1st JJIF Convention in Tunis

Ju-Jitsu International Federation is one of the first sports federations in the world initiating a convention. So the federation will get ready for the future!

The first Convention of JJIF took place from 20 to 29 August 2014 in Tunis (Tunisia).
The first days were intended for the education and training of judges. 38 international and national referees participated in the referee seminar.

The majority of the participants of the referee course came from the African States, but there were also participants from Europe such as Denmark, Germany, France and Austria. Practical experience and the practical exam for international licenses had been done at the 3rd African championships and the first Africa open championship the following day.

25 Nations took part in the tournaments and the following days of training, workshops, discussions and meetings.

Every day training at the Olympic Center with the main focus an the competition sports. Trainers from the french national team (thanks to Patrice and Nicolas) and the speakers of athlete committee performed classes for the competitors. Ne-Waza could be trained under Said Toufouti.
Concepts of modern Self defense had been taught by Carsten Zimmermann from Germany.
Former Sport director Mario den Edel and former Vice President Heinz Lamade gave all participants a chance to learn about traditional Ju-Jitsu and self-defense.

Many workshops and discussions filled the days to prepare JJIF for the next level of acting in the sports world.
